As the world moves forward with more technological innovations, some of us still yearn for the past - like the beauty of bathing on the beach with a good book instead of posing for Instagram or using a good old pen and paper to take notes instead of a laptop. Yet, the human population’s ecological footprint is piling up, and our environment is running out of steam to cater to our excessive needs.
Could there be a way to blend the past with the future?
Yes! Introducing - Rocketbook. Rocketbook looks like a notebook, feels and works just like a notebook, but the plot twist is, it is REUSABLE and can serve to be multiple notebooks for your classes, meeting notes or even sketches!
How does is work, you ask?
The notebook's material is made out of a special polyester composite rather than wood (paper), and using any Pilot pen from their Frixion line, the ink will grip on until you use a moist towel to wipe it off. It’s basically a book of whiteboards that won’t smudge!
Here’s where technology comes in. Before you erase your perfect handwritten notes, you can use the Rocketbook app to scan and enhance your notes and send them right to your designated Cloud space, like Google Drive, Evernote, Dropbox and more. Each notebook page has a row of seven symbols at the bottom, which you can configure to connect to a certain Cloud service or even a specific folder. All you have to do is draw an “x” over a symbol before scanning, and voila, their Rocketbook app will send it right to your assigned location. Did we mention it’s a notebook that you can use over and over and over again? That means you won’t be creating any paper waste and you won’t have to buy a new notebook every semester.
Who says innovation and sustainability means getting rid of the past? As the Haas Paper Saving Challenge kicks into gear, we’ll be sharing more of these great resources that allow you to have the best academic experience while also making you feel good about reducing your ecological footprint.
